A Quick History of Brian Algee

Brian Algee was born in Van Nuys, California to Tom and Patti Schrey. His mother was a California native, born in Los Angeles and raised in the San Fernando Valley. His father moved to the state from Pittsburgh when Brian Algee was young and grew up in Sunland and North Hollywood.

Both of Brian’s parents instilled in him the importance of hard work. His father is still an employee of Ideal Pet Products, and his mother worked as a court reporter until she retired.

Brian went to Canyon High School in Santa Clarita. After he graduated he attended the Academy of Culinary Education to become a chef. Since then, he has spent 20 years developing masterful culinary skills, opening high value restaurants successfully launching two new concepts. Brian is always willing to share his knowledge. He has trained a number of sous chefs, six of whom have become executive chefs in their own kitchens.
